Chelsea defender Millie Bright has signed a new three-year contract extension that will see her time at the club extend to more than a decade. Bright was an integral part of the defensive line that secured four clean sheets at Euro 2022. She was named as the vice-captain for England by Sarina Wiegman deputizing her central defensive partner Leah Williamson. She has also made the Ballon d’Or shortlist along with Lucy Bronze and beth Mead.
“Chelsea, the fans, the club, the people. Thank you for all your support so far,” Millie Bright said after signing a contract extension at Chelsea. “You’re my home and I can’t wait to continue fighting for more trophies. Cheers to the future!”
“We are absolutely delighted Millie has signed a new contract. Millie is our longest-serving player and has been key to our success in her time with us,” Chelsea general manager Paul Green said. “Millie is a leader on and off the pitch and we are proud of how far she has come and all her achievements, including her most recent win at the Euro which was a very proud moment for everyone at the club.”
