Leeds United has completed the transfer of Brenden Aaronson from Red Bull Salzburg. The midfielder has joined the club for a fee of £24.7m and will join the club on July 1. He made 41 appearances for the club last season where he scored six goals and provided 10 assists in the Austrian Bundesliga. Leeds wanted the USA international in the January transfer window. The transfer is subject to an international clearance and work permit.

“I like to say I was a football addict growing up watching the Premier League games, it’s a dream to be here. I had to play with my team and give them my all with Red Bull Salzburg and give them all I had for the rest of the season. I was focused on that but also I was looking at the results from Leeds and this last one had me sweating a little bit,” Brenden Aaronson said after completing his transfer to Leeds. “He [Marsch] was definitely a factor but in general the club was just a massive pull for me. How big, how historic, how the fans are, how the team is, it’s a dream place for me.”
