Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has apologized for his outburst where he slammed a fan’s phone to the ground following their loss to Everton. Footage emerged of Ronaldo lowering his hand and a phone bouncing off the ground as he left the pitch. The mother of the fan said that her son was in complete shock and bruised after the incident. She revealed that her son was autistic and did not understand what happened until he got home.
“He’s really upset about it, and it’s completely put him off going to the game again,” she said. “This is the first football game he’s been to and this has happened.”
“Following an incident at Goodison Park on Saturday, April 9, we are working with Everton Football Club and have been in touch with the boy’s family,” the Merseyside police said in a statement regarding an incident involving Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. “The matter is under investigation and we are gathering information. Our inquiries remain ongoing at this time. “It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing. Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, and patient and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game,” Cristiano Ronaldo posted on Instagram. “I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair play and sportsmanship”
“We are aware of an alleged incident after today’s game at Everton and the club will co-operate with any police inquiries,” a club spokesperson said.
