ARSENAL star Ainsley Maitland-Niles looks likely to leave the club after dropping with boss Mikel Arteta out of favor.

The versatile Gunners star would likely be offloaded in the summer after falling the pecking order from his Spanish boss.

The Englishman fell out of favor before the coronavirus-enforced suspension, with the likes of Hector Bellerin and Sokratis preferring Maitland-Niles at the right-back Arsenal role.

Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles is set to depart the Emirates as part of the summer reshaping of Mikel Arteta.

The 22-year-old will be offloaded at the very next chance, despite being signed until 2023, according to The Athletic.

This summer, Arsenal is looking to fund a squad overhaul and it’s going to have to be player sales as Arteta looks to strengthen its side to challenge next campaign for bigger things.

The 22-year-old has recently been linked to a move away from the Emirates, with an interest in the defender being previously credited to AC Milan.
According to The Athletic, Maitland-Niles will likely head towards the Emirates exit door after being axed by Arteta over behavioral concerns.

The former England Under-21 international was reportedly dropped on multiple occasions after showing up late for training and the article says Arteta would be forced to sell players during coronavirus outbreak to raise funds for overhaul.

Maitland-Niles made 14 appearances for the Gunners in this season’s Premier League but was not in the squad for Arsenal’s last four games until the league was postponed.

Although he has frequently featured at the Emirates in the last season of legendary manager Arsene Wenger and under his successor Unai Emery, he has not had the same game time since Arteta took over.

Five stars in the first five games under the new manager are followed in January by a spot on the bench at Chelsea but Maitland-Niles has not been included in a matchday squad ever since.
