The COVID-19 virus spreads mainly by saliva droplets or nose discharge when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The best way to protect oneself from the infection is to follow the rule of social distancing made by the government. There still many people who have not taken the deadly virus seriously. And then some people are making sure that no one gets affected by the grave disease. Everton is one of them.
Everton described Moise Kean’s behavior as ‘unacceptable’ after the footballer flouted lockout controls on coronavirus. Kean, 20, filmed himself partying with friends during the COVID-19 pandemic until the early hours of the morning, in apparent violation of the government’s social distancing laws.
Kean, who joined Juventus for a record £24million from Everton last summer, is likely to face disciplinary action.
While Everton is unlikely to accept any penalty, the Liverpool Echo claims he could be forced to pay a fine of about £100,000, which accounts for the forward’s salaries of around two weeks.
A club statement read: “Everton Football Club was shocked to hear of an incident in which a first-team player defied government and club policy advice on the coronavirus epidemic. ‘The club strongly expressed its frustration with the player and made it clear that such acts are entirely unacceptable.
“Everton has consistently emphasized the importance of following all government guidelines – including indoor and outdoor regulations and recommendations – through a series of official correspondence to all team members and players.
“The great people at the NHS deserve the utmost respect for their hard work and dedication. Kean is the latest Premier League player to flout the rules after Jack Grealish and Kyle Walker were forced to apologize for violating lockdown restrictions when Tottenham’s pair Serge Aurier and Moussa Sissoko have filmed training together earlier this week.
Kean, 20, has struggled to impress in his first season in England, scoring just once in 26 games for the Toffees.
