Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has confirmed that he will remain at Stamford Bridge. The 24-year-old struggled for regular action with the Blues during Maurizio Sarri ‘s tenure as head coach and was regularly linked with a move away from the club.

Nevertheless, Denmark International has been a regular under Frank Lampard, making 23 appearances in all competitions and starting 10 of the club’s last 11 Premier League matches.

Christensen declared his “heart” for the London club before saying that he would be open to extending his current contract which will expire in the summer of 2022.

Christensen told Sky Sports News. “Never have I looked anywhere. I never doubted my condition. I had my eyes at Chelsea all the time. I’ve had my deal and I’ve always wanted this to be over and I’ve always dreamed of much more. None of it has improved. Last season it was a different situation but, I still love being here that is the short answer.”

Christensen played all 90 minutes as Chelsea suffered a 3-2 defeat Wednesday night at the Premier League’s West Ham United.
