The Italian league leaders have reported that AC Milan forward Ante Rebic and midfielder Rade Krunic have both tested positive for coronavirus and will miss the Serie A game against Juventus on Wednesday.
“Ante Rebic and Rade Krunic tested positive for a molecular swab carried out yesterday (Tuesday) in anticipation of the match against Juventus,” the club said in a statement.
“The asymptomatic players remained in isolation at home where a second control swab was taken today (Wednesday). All the team members were subjected to further tests with negative results.”
Following positive tests earlier this week, Juventus pair Alex Sandro and Juan Cuadrado are both ruled out of the game.
The absence of Rebic and Krunic is a blow to Milan’s Stefano Pioli, who is already struck by injuries including forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic and suspended midfielder Sandro Tonali.
In Serie A, AC Milan has a one-point advantage over city rivals Inter, with Juventus 10 points clear of the leaders in the sixth, playing a game less.
