Arsenal Women have completed the signing of two-time World Cup winner Tobin Heath after she left Manchester United following the end of her contract. She spent a year at Manchester United where she scored four goals as they finished just a point behind the Gunners. She was part of the USA team that won the World Cup in 2015 and 2019. Heath has 177 caps to her name, scoring 31 goals and providing 41 assists in the process.
“Tobin’s record speaks for itself,” said Arsenal Women coach Jonas Eidevall after completing the signing of Tobin Heath. “She’s an incredibly talented player who will bring so much experience to our squad. This is an exciting time for the club, and I’m delighted we could secure Tobin’s signing as we prepare to kick off the new season at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.”
Arsenal will be looking to lift their first league title since 2019 after a successful transfer window. The club has signed Nikita Parris from Lyon, Mana Iwabuchi, Frida Maanum, and Simone Boye Sorensen. They will face their first real test against defending champions Chelsea at the Emirates.
“It’s a big signing, isn’t it? You look at what they’ve done in the window and it’s been very shrewd.” former Manchester United coach Casey Stoney said. “She adds a lot. She’s an unbelievable competitor. She brings a winning mentality into that dressing room and where Arsenal have fallen short in those vital moments in those big games, I think she will be a superstar for them.”
