The season for Arsenal went from bad to worse as Tuesday knocked them out of the EFL Cup, but Mikel Arteta has faith in his side.
Mikel Arteta is confident he has the fighting spirit in his Arsenal squad that will help the embattled Gunners to turn their dismal domestic season around.
Since November 1, when they beat Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League, Arsenal has not won a game outside of the Europa League.
Gunners manager Arteta acknowledged that the run would likely decide Arsenal’s league campaign, but insisted that he had full faith in his players.
“It’s a hard one to take considering how the game went. This level of opponent, when you give the goals away it makes the game impossible,” Arteta told Sky Sports.
“In any game, a lot of odd things happen and that makes things very difficult. We have to turn things around. With the fixtures we have, there is no doubt that our season will be determined. Based on what we have shown tonight against difficult opponents, I have fighters in my team. Yes, I have fighters.”
