Bukayo Saka praised Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who said the club was close to signing Real Madrid’s Martin Odegaard.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that the club is close to signing Real Madrid attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard on loan, as he reflected on his side’s 3-1 victory over Southampton on Tuesday.
The result raised Arsenal above Southampton and eighth in the Premier League table, and Arteta showed that with the arrival of Odegaard, the positive start of his side to 2021 will soon be further enhanced.
“I think we are pretty close but it’s not finalized as I understand it. I haven’t spoken to [Arsenal technical director Edu] or the club in the last few hours but we’re very positive that we’ll finalize the deal.”
