Arturo Vidal has indicated that he would be interested in moving to Inter to link with Antonio Conte, though acknowledging that at Barcelona he is not always “feeling significant.”

When Barca decided to fork out £ 27 million ($34 million) to bring Vidal from Inter to Camp Nou in the summer of 2018, eyebrows raised.

Vidal has always operated as more of a midfield enforcer and is more known for his tough tackling and leadership skills than his possessive ability.

The 33-year-old, however, fit the profile of Barca in terms of his trophy-winning experience, having picked up four Serie A titles at Juventus before assisting Bayern to three Bundesliga crowns.

However, Vidal has only one more year left to run on his current contract and was heavily linked to a transfer to Inter this summer when the market is reopening.

This season, the veteran midfielder has been in and out of Barca’s starting XI, and he says he may need to re-evaluate his future if his situation does not improve in the next few weeks.

Vidal told El Periodico this weekend ahead of La Liga ‘s return: “We have to play for another two months. I ‘m happy here and I have excellent teammates, but I want to feel important. Otherwise, I’ll have to look for something else to continue my career. I like playing, I’m not saying all the games but the hardest and most important games to win the titles.”

On Conte’s recorded interest in him at Inter, the Chilean added: “We have an excellent friendship, he knows I am a winner and he can trust me. That’s what I want here.”

Even though his future remains in the air, Vidal insisted that he remains committed to helping Barca defend their title with next Saturday’s clash against Mallorca.
