Atletico Madrid squandered a one-goal advantage with two minutes left in Sunday’s Derbi, although Real Madrid managed to frustrate their rivals.
With a late equalizer from Karim Benzema, Real Madrid salvaged a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid, extending their unbeaten streak in El Derbi to ten LaLiga games.

Atleti is the best team in Spain’s top flight this season, but they have been second best in their city in recent years, and they were unable to break their losing streak in this match on Sunday.

Luis Suarez’s 10th league goal against Madrid seemed to be enough to secure a vital win, but Diego Simeone’s side was denied a club-record 309th victory due to missed opportunities.

With an 88th-minute equalizer to hold the champions in contention, Benzema, fit to lead the team again, made his 371st LaLiga appearance – a record for Madrid’s non-Spanish players.

Madrid remains in the third position, five points behind Atletico Madrid, but Barcelona, which defeated Osasuna on Saturday, is now just three points behind the champions, who have won just one of their five games in all competitions.

Celta Vigo defeated Huesca 4-3 in a previous match.

With seven goals and a series of reversals, it was a “crazy” game. The visitors took an early 1-0 lead, but Huesca responded with a 2-1 victory. Celta scored two goals to take a 3-2 lead, and the home team tied it up at 3-3, giving Celta a four-goal win.

Santi Mina (5), Nolito (37), Hugo Mallo (52) and Fran Beltran (76) scored for Celta, and Siovas (14) and Rafa Mir (16), David Ferreiro (74) scored for the home team.

Atletico Madrid leads with 59 points, followed by Barcelona with 56 and Real Madrid with 54.

Celta has moved up to eighth place in the table with 33 points, while Huesca is in the last place with 20 points, four less than the safety zone.
