Barcelona could raid Italy for at least two new defenders when the transfer window reopened after several potential targets were identified in Serie A.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca long for a trio of Juventus stars-Matthijs de Ligt, Daniele Rugani and Mattia de Sciglio-and Inter Milan back center Milan Skriniar.

The Spanish newspaper claims that Barcelona will use its strong relationship with Juve and Inter to help strengthen its squad without breaking the bank.

Samuel Umtiti and Nelson Semedo are likely to be included in any contract, and manager Quique Setien is desperate to improve his defense before next season begins.

Until joining Juventus last summer, De Light was a priority for Barca but an up-and-down first season in Italy has led to reports that he could be made available.

The first Barcelona player asked Juve about when they expressed an interest in signing midfielder Arthur Melo was the Dutch defender, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Spanish giants are believed to be on the lookout for at least one central defender, plus a new full-back, despite the green light to reopen the transfer window.

De Ligt and Skriniar, who have reportedly drawn Manchester United interest, would cost considerably more than Rugani and De Sciglio, which could cause a cash-strapped Barca problem.

The club remains keen on a deal for the star striker Lautaro Martinez from Inter, though they are reported to be in negotiations with Juve about a contract that would see midfielder Miralem Pjanic transfer to the Nou Camp this summer.
