According to Cadena SER, Barcelona has agreed to part with the law firm’s services, Cuatrecasas, to advise Lionel Messi on his wish to leave the club.

It was confirmed Messi was advised by the same law firm to send the burofax notifying the club of his intention to leave.

Barca found the presence of Cuatrecasas in the possible departure of Messi from Camp Nou “unacceptable.” The Catalan club continues to uphold its policy of retaining its greatest player ever – or selling it only for its €700 million release clause.

The Argentinean believes he can leave for free although Barcelona argues that until June 10 such an arrangement was only valid.

Messi’s attorneys argue that the date of the agreement is no longer true because the season was forced back because of coronavirus.
