The results of Barcelona vs Levante in round 36 of La Liga have been summarized by head coach Ronald Koeman (3-3). Read more about Barcelona vs Levante here.
Barça got off to a quick start, creating two major chances in the first five minutes with combos involving Frenkie De Jong and Pedri, but Pedri missed both opportunities and the Blaugrana failed to score.
The game then slowed significantly, with no side capable of injuring the other. And Levante seemed content to park the bus, which didn’t help the fun factor. Slowly but steadily Barça began to see counter-attacking opportunities. The home side attempted to go forward a little more. And both Ousmane Dembélé and Jordi Alba were serious problems on the wings, resulting in goals for Barça.
Koeman told Marca, “Explaining what happened is tough. The team performed admirably in the first half, but in the second half, the pace of the game was limited. We made a couple of mistakes.
At 2-2, we responded well, but we then defended badly. It’s not usual to concede three times in 45 minutes, particularly for a team like Barcelona.
The season is challenging; there are a lot of games to play, but the squad is resilient. However, if you don’t play as hard in the second half as you did in the first, you’ll embolden the rival. Which is impossible to reverse later.
We had to win all three of our remaining games, but it’s becoming more difficult. As a mentor, I would accept accountability. We are very dissatisfied with the outcome.”
