Bayern Munich is in pole position to win the race for Kai Havertz and wants him to join next season’s Leroy Stable in a new-look attack.
With his form at Bayer Leverkusen, Havertz, 21, has attracted attention and Bayern wants to keep him in Germany in a contract worth over £75million.
During four seasons of regular play at BayArena, Havertz was monitored by European rivals such as Chelsea. But it is understood that Bayern is determined to land Germany internationally and is closer to Bayer’s playmaker valuation.
Bayern Munich has emerged as favorites according to The Telegraph this summer to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder, who has been closely linked to Chelsea in recent days, together with Man City’s Leroy Sane, is eyed by the German giants as a potential part of a new-look frontline. It’s unclear how Bayern will finance both deals but, according to the source, they ‘re closer to Bayer ‘s valuation of their key player than Chelsea.
This is a serious contradiction to several reports claiming that Bayern is in fact all but out of the international Germany race as they seek to reinforce other positions. One of those stories added that in their Havertz valuation, Chelsea and Bayer were miles apart.
The 21-year-old is currently one of the world’s most coveted players, and interested parties might have to pay at least £75 m to make this transfer happen.
However, as Bayer is under no pressure to sell, they may be pushing for an even higher transfer fee which could be a problem for the Blues who have already arranged the transfer of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and all but sure to close the deal for RB Leipzig to Timo Werner shortly.
