Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti outlined the performance of the 1/4 League Cup final match against Manchester United.

“We have done enough to win: we have played well, we have defended well. We dominated the match after the 20th minute. We did not attack much, but until the 70th minute, we defended well.

They had more ball possession, they had a stronger team, and so we had to protect ourselves. We went through a risky counterattack, and the game went as we had expected.

In the middle of the field, we left too much room, and in the end, it allowed us to display the best qualities of Cavani, who scored a wonderful goal.

We’re sad that we’re going, but we have no regrets. We were playing well, the players were sacrificing themselves, they were working hard. Yeah, we have lost, but we look forward to it,’ Ancelotti told Sky Sports.

Harry Maguire: “Trophies are waiting for Manchester United.” It is time for us to start winning important matches
