If Chelsea fails to reach an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for Kai Havertz, Chelsea will reportedly concentrate on signing Jonathan Ikone from Lille.
The Blues remain locked in negotiations with Leverkusen over a deal for Havertz, who’s supposedly keen to drive a move to Stamford Bridge through.
However, the longer discussions drag on the more likely Chelsea is to look elsewhere and Ikone is considered as an alternative option according to Le 10 Sport.
Four-cap France International Ikone, previously known as Borussia Dortmund ‘s target, recorded three goals and six Ligue 1 assists from last term attacking midfield.
Lille is expected to value the 22-year-old at around £32m mark – a significant saving on the £90m Leverkusen is after the flexible Havertz fellow attacker.
Ikone spent the last two seasons at the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium after spells with Montpellier and Paris Saint-Germain where he began his career.
