On the heels of remarkable continental success, Goal has been able to reveal that the German strategist will be given new terms, with an initial 18-month pact being torn up.

Roman Abramovich’s decision to replace club hero Frank Lampard in January has been vindicated, and the man in charge of the team now hopes to deliver a further trophy.

Chelsea News | Thomas Tuchel: I will stay hungry

Tuchel, who previously led Chelsea to a top-four finish in the Premier League and a position in the FA Cup final, said of Abramovich on the Blues’ official website: “I can tell him that I will stay hungry. I want the next title and I’m extremely thrilled; I feel like I’m a member of a tremendously ambitious club.

A strong member of a strong group that completely matches my ideals and my current enthusiasm for football.

As a result, my ambition is to pursue additional successes. My ambition is to improve as a coach. To push the team to its limits on the opening day of the next season. We have a lot of work to do.” We need to close the gap, and that is exactly what I am working on.”

During Abramovich’s ownership of Chelsea, the club has been accustomed to winning trophies. His investment has allowed the club to make quick development.

Tuchel believes in the ambition of those above him. Despite winning the most coveted award, the 47-year-old isn’t going to rest on his laurels.

“It’s about the next one,” Tuchel said after Chelsea won their second European Cup.

“When I won my first professional football title, I felt it on a lesser level. It was even a wonderful sensation that it didn’t affect me too much. When Dortmund won the cup, I didn’t show up to the following training session with any less hunger, drive, or ambition. Of course, now is the time to rejoice for a few days. To savor it, and to let it sink in.

Now is the time to talk about it and dwell on it for a week or two. But, strangely, it has little effect on you. I believe is a good thing because no one likes to relax.

“I don’t want to take a break. I’m looking forward to the next installment. I want the next triumph, the next trophy. The next procedure to be of the same high quality and consistency.

I’d like to be a part of it, and this is the next step. There’s no denying it.”
