Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez says he ‘s free this summer to leave the club and he says there are at least 10 teams interested in signing him.
The 27-year-old joined the Gunners in 2012, but has since been sent out on loan six times and made just 37 first-team appearances.
The Argentine has played 23 times for this season’s north London outfit, having been called in to play in the Europa League before he was selected to replace Bernd Leno in Premier League matches when a June injury sidelined the first-choice shot-stopper with.
Martinez still has two years left on his contract, but if coach Mikel Arteta doesn’t guarantee more playing time next season, he will consider leaving.
“I want to stay at Arsenal, but only if I get more minutes. Because at a personal level I’m in an age where I need to play as many minutes as possible to build confidence,” he told Marca.
“I’m in Europe’s 10 teams crosshairs but I can’t say who those clubs are because there’s nothing concrete about it. I still don’t have a clear situation with Arsenal, I will make the best decision for my career when I get it back.”
Martinez spent on loan at Getafe in the 2017-18 campaign but only made four appearances at La Liga.
Despite his frustrating year in the Spanish top-flight, if he were to leave England it would be his first choice destination.
