A second hat-trick in four matches was scored by Seville striker Youssef En-Nesyri as his side demolished Cadiz 3-0 on Saturday to climb to the third position in La Liga.

Elsewhere, Real Betis was inspired by 39-year-old Joaquin to claw his way back from two goals down to Real Sociedad and draw 2-2 by scoring and assisting in the final few minutes. Villarreal drew 0-0 while Huesca was battling. After teammate Suso had hit the post, Moroccan forward En-Nesyri tapped a loose ball into the net in the 35th minute on the rebound. He headed home a free-kick from Suso moments later to double his side’s advantage.

In the second half, the striker displayed his relentless appetite for goals to complete his treble, responding quickly to a terrible clearance from Marc Baro of Cadiz and climbing to head home above another defender.

En-Nesyri then ruled out a fourth strike for a narrow offside, but his haul brought him to the top of La Liga’s scoring charts with 12 goals, ahead of Luis Suarez of Atletico Madrid and Lionel Messi of Barcelona on 11 each.

The forward said, despite being partially sighted following a collision with a Cadiz player, he had scored his second goal.

“I had a problem with my eye and couldn’t see but I knew I could do something at the next play and so I had to score with one eye,” En-Nesyri told reporters.

“I’m very happy with the hat-trick and for how hard the rest of the team worked. We’re going to keep on playing like this, scoring goals and getting lots of points. We’re not going to let up.”

Seville is third out of 19 games on 36 points, two points ahead of Barcelona, which will visit Elche on Sunday, and Villarreal.

In ninth position on 24 points, Cadiz was left behind.
