Andy Murray believes that England has a “pretty decent chance” of winning the Euro 2020 after defeating Germany in the Round of 16. Murray revealed that he has been following England’s progress throughout the tournament as they were in the same group as Scotland. He was present at Wembley for Scotland’s goalless draw against England. Murray himself is into the third round of Wimbledon where he will face Denis Shapovalov.

England will face Ukraine in Rome in the quarterfinals on Saturday before a potential semifinal against Denmark or the Czech republic. he revealed that he is fully backing England to reach the final after their favorable run-in.

“I got to see a little bit of Tuesday’s match, but not much because I was actually practicing during the first half,” Andy Murray said about England’s prospects at Euro 2020. “I actually went along to the Scotland-England match at Wembley, which was brilliant, great fun. Went with one Scottish friend tennis player and two English friends and had a great night, so enjoyed that.”

“I think England have got a pretty decent chance, it seems like, of winning. Ukraine is a solid draw, I think, and then if they can get back to Wembley for the semi-finals, I think that’s against Denmark or Czech, they’d be favourites there.” he added. “Yeah, it’s a great opportunity for England to win a major competition for the first time in a while. Hopefully they can do it.”
