Daniel James believes that the forwards that Wales possesses will strike fear into the opposition defenses at Euro 2020. Wales play their opening match in Baku against Switzerland on Saturday. Robert Page has a number of attacking options at his disposal. James will start alongside Gareth Bale with one of Kieffer Moore, Harry Wilson, David Brooks, and Tyler Roberts complimenting the attack. There are reports that Aaron Ramsey could also be deployed in a false nine role.

“For us, it’s just brilliant that everyone is involved,” Daniel James said talking about Euro 2020. “I know the Euros was supposed to be last summer and everyone was gutted (they were postponed), but it’s great for the players who are now all fit.”

“We have a full squad this time and we’re all raring to go.” he added. “We will definitely be feared. Whoever is put on the pitch attacking-wise, we have a great group.”

Wales secured qualification for the European Championship after a 2-0 win over Hungary in November 2019. Ramsey scored the winner that day. He has been riddled with injuries ever since and have played less than half of Wales’ games.

“David and Aaron have had injuries over the past two years but when they have come into the squad they have been unbelievable,” James said. “I’ve only played for Wales with Aaron once or twice and he scored two goals against Hungary. We play a little different than at club football and it’s something I have grown into since I first came into the squad two and a half/three years ago.”

James has not been able to nail down a starting place for Manchester United, making just 11 starts in the Premier League. In the 2019/20 season the winger started 26 games. The emergence of Mason Greenwood has been a big reason behind his lack of starts.
