After an excellent start to their season, Everton is looking to press on in the transfer market, as rumors say they are in pole position to sign Jean-Clair Todibo from Barcelona.
So far, the Toffees have won all three of their Premier League matches after an exciting transfer market summer that has seen the likes of James Rodriguez and Allan arrive and settle into the first-team instantly.
But manager Carlo Ancelotti still hopes to land a defender before next Monday’s transfer window closes and, according to Le10Sport, he’s going to Todibo.
The study says that Everton is a favorite to land on loan for the 20-year-old who spent the first half of this year on loan at Schalke in Germany.
The defender secured a dream move to the Nou Camp from Toulouse less than six months into his senior career back in January 2019 as a France Under 20 international.
However, since then, he has only played four LaLiga matches for the club, having struggled to make an impression on the first team.
New manager Ronald Koeman did not pick him to face Villarreal on Sunday as part of the squad and the tall center-back was not even part of the pre-season plans of the Dutchman, suggesting he is free to leave the team.
