Heng Min Son scored the winner in the Premier League football match between Manchester City and Tottenham. He gave the new manager Nuno Espirito Santo the perfect start in his competitive debut against reigning champions Manchester City. It was a feisty contest with both teams exchanging blows throughout the game. It was the Player of the Season Son who scored the winner with a precise finish into the bottom left corner after dribbling past Nathan Ake.
Kevin de Bruyne was not fit enough to start the match but forced keeper Hugo Lloris into a saves after coming on. With the future of their captain Harry Kane uncertain, Spurs put that aside to show the results on the pitch.

Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo: “It was good I think. The atmosphere was special off the hard work of the boys. They make any crowd proud when they work so hard.” he added. “It was strong. We were lucky because they had chances but the boys held on and they stayed in the game. We knew it would be tough. After that first 20 minutes we did better and we started getting our chances. In the first half, we didn’t finish so good. When we should have shot on the goal we didn’t do it.”
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola: “In general, we arrived in the final third many times but were not clinical enough. We are more or less the same team from last season but we are missing some people. Kevin [de Bruyne] hadn’t completed a full training session. We’ve lost the last three games 1-0, 1-0, 1-0, 1-0 so we have to do better.” he added.
