In one of Italy’s biggest football derbies, the Derby Della Capitale, Lazio outperformed city rival Roma at the Olimpico Stadium 3-0.
The “sky-blues” should have been celebrated more convincingly, and Roma is fortunate that a bigger “flood” was not encountered.
In the 14th minute, the host took the lead with a goal by Cire Immobile, and eight minutes later, in his 100th Lazio appearance, Luis Alberto scored 2-0. The final 3-0 was set in the 68th minute by Alberto with his second goal of the match.
Interestingly, it was the first “Derby Della Capitale” to be played in front of empty stands and the first for both Roma and Lazio in which the Spanish goalkeepers started.
He defended Pepe Reina at home and Pau Lopez at Roma’s entrance.
Another big clash is on the agenda in this round, with Inter and Juventus meeting on Sunday.
With this win, Lazio advanced by one spot and is now seventh with 31 points, while Roma stayed in third with 34 points.
With 40 points, Milan is on top, three more than Inter.
