Kevin De Bruyne scored Manchester City’s 100th goal of the season in Tuesday’s Champions League match against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Manchester City scored their 100th goal of the 2020-21 season on Tuesday, continuing Pep Guardiola’s record of leading his top-flight teams to a century of goals in each of his coaching seasons.

Kevin De Bruyne’s venomous left-footed shot soared over Yann Sommer’s crossbar to give City a 1-0 lead in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Borussia Monchengladbach.

After receiving a pass from Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan doubled City’s lead on the night, bringing the team up 4-0 on aggregate.

Only Manchester United has had more consecutive 100-point seasons than any other English Premier League club, having done so in each of Alex Ferguson’s final nine years in charge.
