Jamie Vardy scored a brace as Leicester and Burnley played out one of the high-scoring football results of the weekend in the Premier League. Vardy opened the scoring but in the wrong goal as he headed an Ashley Westwood corner past Kasper Schmeichel. He made up for it by expertly finishing a through ball by Youri Tielemans. Maxwel Cornet volleyed home for the visitors shortly after the equalizer before limping off with a hamstring injury. Vardy scored his second with five minutes on the clock after rounding Nick Pope.

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers: “We created a lot of chances. They defended the box really well, got some blocks in. We had enough pressure and we arrived in some really good areas so I’m pleased.” he added. “We need to do better defensively, there’s no doubt. We haven’t found the balance right again. But from being behind twice, it’s the great spirit by the players.”
Burnley manager Sean Dyche: ‘I’m frustrated at their two goals because the rest of the performance was very good. I’m frustrated by them because we know Jamie Vardy’s game and our defensive unit knows his game and he’s done what he’s done twice.”
