Brentford earned one of the surprising football scores of the Premier League when they beat Wolves 2-0 away from home despite playing half an hour a man down. This was their first away win in the top flight for 74 years. Ivan Toney opened the scoring for the visitors in the 28th minute after he was brought down by Marcal. Toney then provided the assist for the second goal when he threaded the needle with a through ball for Bryan Mbuemo. Wolves have just won a game from a possible five while Brentford moves into the top half of the season after their third clean sheet of the campaign.

Managers Reaction

Wolves boss Bruno Lage: “The last 45 minutes I need to understand how many minutes we played because I saw too many players on the floor from the opponent. Even the goalkeeper changed his gloves.” he added. “For now we stick to complaining about what we did and the way we offered the goals to the opponent.”

Brentford boss Thomas Frank: “I could ask [Bruno Lage] what he would have done if he was leading a newly-promoted team. We are just a bus stop in Hounslow, playing against Wolves, established in the Premier League and with 10 times our budget, leading 2-0 away, 10 versus 11.”
