Barcelona is contemplating a surprise move this summer taking out-of-favor Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth to Camp Nou.

At the beginning of his Spurs career, the Argentine showed early promise but he has since dropped the pecking order. The arrival of new coach Jose Mourinho has also limited his first-team chances.

Foyth is anxious to gain some important playing time in his young career at a critical point and so Tottenham has agreed to give his services to some clubs. And Catalan giants in Barcelona are prepared to take a gamble this summer on the 22-year-old according to The Mirror.

The interest of La Blaugrana in the defender of Spurs stems from their center-back problems, as the Spanish champions are expected to unload big earner Samuel Umtiti and starlet Jean-Clair Todibo to balance the books for the coming season.

And for Barça, Foyth could be a cheap and effective option, provided that he can fill in both the defense center and the right-back if needed.

The interest of La Blaugrana in the defender of Spurs stems from their own center-back problems, as the Spanish champions are expected to unload big earner Samuel Umtiti and starlet Jean-Clair Todibo in an effort to balance the books for the coming season.

“You just want to feel like a player to play and feel strong. Playing is not easy, either. If I have opportunities here, then I’m going to be really relaxed. And if they don’t count on me, then finding another club would be the best thing. “I’d like to live in Europe, all the leagues have a high quality. My goal is to play as long as I can at the highest level. The main thing is play.”
