Lille, PSG, and Lyon, the French football championship’s top three teams, secured the 28th round of Le Championnat, while Monaco lost to Strasbourg, their first loss in the previous 13 rounds.
Lille defeated Marseille 2-0 thanks to two goals from Jonathan David in the dying minutes of the game. In the 90th minute, the Canadian striker scored a 1-0 goal, confirming the celebrations of the French championship-leading team two minutes later.
PSG, Lille’s first follower, defeated Bordeaux 1-0 on the road, with Pablo Sarabia scoring the game-winning goal in the 20th minute. Toma Bai was unable to play for Bordeaux due to injury, and the team suffered its sixth loss in the last seven rounds.
Houssem Aouar scored three points for the Lions in the 74th minute as Lyon beat Rennes with the same score at home.
Monaco lost to Strasbourg after winning a goal in the referee’s compensation, with Frederic Guilbert scoring the goal.
The team from the Principality had not lost in the previous 13 rounds.
Lille is in first place with 62 points, PSG is second with 59 points, and Lyon is third with 59 points. With 55 points, Monaco is in fourth place.
