Tottenham striker Harry Kane revealed he has a clear conscience despite seeking a move to Manchester City during the transfer window. Kane pushed for a move to the English Champions after reporting late for pre-season training. After Spurs rejected a bid of £100m, Kane posted on social media committing himself to the club. He maintains that the transfer saga has not messed up his reputation at the Spurs.
“No, I don’t think so. I think anyone involved in the football industry knows the ins and outs.” Tottenham striker Harry Kane said. “I was quite calm with the situation, but when you’re in it and you know the truth, then your conscience is clear. The whole career I’ve had ups and downs from when I’m young to where I am, that’s just part and parcel of it.”
“I know there was a lot of noise surrounding me but I was quite calm. I knew what the situation was between me and the club and that’s the way it’ll stay,” he added. “A lot of people that know me will say I’m a professional athlete who’s dedicated my life to this game and that’s what I’ll continue to do. “I’ll look forward now, the aim has always been to win silverware with Tottenham and it’s been that aim every year.”
Meanwhile, Spurs have also signed Emerson Royal from Barcelona for £25.7m. “We are delighted to announce the signing of Emerson Royal from Barcelona, subject to international clearance and a work permit.” Spurs said in a statement. “The right-back has signed a contract with us until 2026 and will wear the number 12 shirt. Emerson will travel to London from Spain later this week.”
