Chelsea’s manager Frank Lampard became the latest football figure in the Lionel Messi versus Cristiano Ronaldo controversy.
For more than a decade now, the Portuguese and the Argentinian have been vying for top honors in Spanish and European football, as well as individual trophies. Among them, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi won a remarkable eleven Ballons d’Or, ten of them coming in years to come before Luka Modric broke the duopoly in 2018.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have come up against each other in their careers, but they still have to do so like a boss.
Speaking of whom he favors between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Chelsea’s head coach said;
“I’m going to Lionel Messi on this pure, natural talent, but what [Cristiano] Ronaldo has done was just unbelievable. When asked about some of the hardest players he’s ever met during his playing days, he named two of Lionel Messi’s former Barcelona teammates Andres Iniesta and Xavi. The legend of the former Chelsea has come up against the Blaugrana on many occasions in his glorious career as a player.”
