After playing 30 minutes in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Eibar, Gareth Bale missed Real Madrid training on Monday with muscle pain.
The Welshman, who has experienced multiple injury problems with the Spanish club during his tenure, has been rested by medical personnel. They are afraid to overload Bale too soon and according to AS, the winger is expected to be back in action on Tuesday.
Bale made his 250th appearance for the club on Sunday back for Zinedine Zidane’s side in the first LaLiga game since the season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. He came out of the bench, replacing Eden Hazard in the Alfredo di Stefano stadium contest for an hour. Bale looked off the pace slightly with a pass finish.
Medical staff is hopeful that Bale is working on maximum strength again and are careful to press him too much. Bale missed several sessions due to physical overload when the Real squad came back to the training and his progress was slower than some team-mates.
With a pass completion percentage of just 63, Bale looked slightly off the pace and lost the ball 5 times.
In Real’s next LaLiga clash against Valencia Thursday night, he may be given another chance to build on his fitness levels.
