Inter Milan is keen on Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard, according to Tuttosport (via Diario Gol), and will look to take him to San Siro when the Osborne winter transfer window is months away.
Since joining the La Liga giants from Chelsea in June 2019 for an initial £ 90 million in a five-year deal, appearing in just 28 matches across all competitions, the Belgium international has struggled with injuries.
Hazard scored just three times and helped seven times in those appearances, and when he persuaded President Florentino Perez to seek his signature, he didn’t have the kind of effect manager Zinedine Zidane wished for.
The Madrid boss needed a player who could recreate anything close to the sort of influence that Cristiano Ronaldo had on the Santiago Bernabeu, and one of the demands he made to Perez was to land the former Chelsea star before agreeing to return for a second stint to the Madrid dugout.
Although Zidane led Los Blancos last term to the La Liga crown, Hazard did not play a huge role in the triumph, and without him, the team did fairly well.
Since joining Madrid, the 29-year-old has had eight injuries in 16 months, but Inter reckons his fitness will improve if he joins them.
The Serie A giants won’t be able to pay Hazard the kind of salaries he receives in Madrid, nor will they make Perez a juicy offer, so next month’s exit doesn’t seem to be on the cards, with the player ready to prove himself and pass forward for the remainder of 2020-21.
Even though he had doubts about signing him in the first place, the Madrid President is not looking to let go of him at the moment, but he would reportedly be open to cashing in on him next summer if the winger shows no signs of progress.
