According to a source, Inter has suggested the ‘idea’ of a transfer swap with Chelsea involving Christian Eriksen and Jorginho.
In Italy and England, both players have faced continued uncertainty about their respective futures.
Since swapping the Premier League for Serie A last January, Eriksen has struggled to find his finest form. Jorginho, meanwhile, has regularly entertained ties with a step back to his birth country.
Previous studies have reported how Inter is not resistant to the concept of seeking another new challenge for Eriksen. What’s more, Calcio Mercato Web is now saying that they have not changed their stance.
The Dane is ‘destined’ to end up on the transfer list at the end of the season after struggling to get a move away in the January transfer window.
However, instead of selling the 28-year-old outright, through a swap with Chelsea, an ‘idea’ has emerged at Inter.
The Serie A side allegedly received news that Eriksen will be keen on the Blues. They are, however, willing to see Jorginho depart.
Stamford Bridge chiefs, however, do not currently agree on the statistics Inter has set out. Indeed, on top of Eriksen’s arrival in West London, Chelsea would like to gain EUR 20 million (£ 17.5 million).
Calcio Mercato Web emphasizes that at this point, the proposal remains only an ‘idea’. Nonetheless, it is one that Inter have put a lot of their effort into.
It remains uncertain, amid uncertainty about the future of Eriksen, whether Jorginho is part of Thomas Tuchel’s long-term strategy at Chelsea.
However, the fact that every Premier League minute has been played by the 29-year-old since the appointment of the German may be a surefire sign of things to come.
Meanwhile, Eriksen has remained on the bench in four of Inter’s past five top-flight games.
