The former AC Milan sporting director has been seeking to get Paqueta to France for the last year. PSG’s bid, however, has always been about 20 million, only half of what Leonardo paid for buying him from Flamengo himself.
Despite the tough start, Ismael Bennacer has drawn the attention of many major clubs after a successful season thus far. Ex owner of Milan, Leonardo wants him at Paris Saint-Germain.
Milan has officially declined the first €30 m bid for midfielder Ismael Bennacer from Paris Saint-Germain. The Ligue 1 club has already made a bid for Algeria international, only to have it turned down, according to le10sport.com.
Putting them off isn’t enough as PSG and Leonardo are eager to bring in the former Empoli stars. The Rossoneri paid €16 million last summer to get Bennacer from Empoli, having already reached terms before being appointed Player of the Tournament as Algeria won the African Cup of Nations.
The Rossoneri, however, promptly declined the bid as Bennacer would be a central player in the upcoming youth revolution. However, the player himself is tempted by the thought of joining the French team, as he knows, according to the source, Leonardo thinks highly of him.
He’s made 23 competitive appearances for Milan this season, contributing one assist but being a key figure in their midfield, above all. Perhaps doubling the expense isn’t enough to lure them into a deal, because it appears PSG would have to pay the 22-year-old at least €40 m.
PSG ‘s latest attempts can not be ruled out, but it is clear that Milan considers their No.4 as unsellable. Excluding any exciting offers this summer, he will also be the midfield leader for next season for the Rossoneri.
