The Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan are In the hunt for Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso.

The Spaniard made only 11 appearances in the Premier League under Frank Lampard this season and might be interested in the way out with his former Italian managers.

Maurizio Sarri, the current Juve boss who worked with Alonso last season, and Antonio Conte, the Inter manager who worked with the 2016-2018 defender, are keen to bring the 29-year-old back to Series A, as reported by Football Italia.

Conte was the coach who signed Alonso for Chelsea when he arrived from Fiorentina for £20.5 m (€23 m) at the club in the summer of 2016. The pair won the Premier League together in their debut season, and also the FA Cup before Conte left the club in 2018. Alonso also has experience of winning silverware alongside Sarri, having won the Europa League last season with the former Naples managers.

A dead-ball specialist, the 29-year-old has still managed to score goals and record three assists for the Blues this season, despite his lack of game-time.

However, this season, with Reece James and Cesar Azpilicueta filling in as well, Emerson has often been favored at left-back. Overall, in just under four years at the club, Alonso has played 140 times for Chelsea, scoring 22 goals.

Alonso has featured for Chelsea over the weekend in a friendly win behind closed doors at Stamford Bridge against QPR, ahead of this week’s Premier League restart-Chelsea travels to face Aston Villa in their first game back on Sunday.
