If Inter Milan have their way in the transfer window, it could all change at Stamford Bridge in January.
According to football.london, the Italians are planning a bid for the experienced Olivier Giroud, and while Frank Lampard would certainly loathe to lose him, because of the abundance of striking talent that he has available, he can’t guarantee the Frenchman game time.
Giroud has to think about next summer’s European Championship, and he has to play regularly if he wants to get a spot in the French squad.
Giroud will have six months left in January after signing the annual contract last summer and will therefore be free to speak to interested suitors.
Antonio Conte would be willing to give away out of West London to the striker, but he would still not be the first choice.
However, at the San Siro, there is more chance of him having regular football, so a switch makes sense for all concerned.
