Stan Collymore believes that Jurgen Klopp has already achieved more than Pep Guardiola on English football.

Guardiola inherited Manchester City ‘s Managerial reigns in 2016 and has since delivered eight major trophies including Premier League titles back-to-back.

The Spaniard is widely revered as his generation ‘s finest manager, having also won numerous titles in both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but he has always enjoyed strong financial support in the transfer market.

In 2015, after leading Borussia Dortmund to two Bundesliga crowns, Klopp arrived in England with a similarly sterling reputation, and he soon set about stamping his mark on a trustless Liverpool team.

The German head coach has gradually impacted significant changes over the past five years on a limited budget, to create a side that is now considered one of Europe’s strongest overcoming early growing pains.

Liverpool won last season’s Champions League and looks set to add an elusive Premier League title to their trophy cabinet this summer, with Klopp credited for being the mastermind in their ascent to the top. Collymore says the Reds boss had a greater impact at Anfield than Guardiola had at Etihad Stadium, and that he’s well on his way to earning a place in the fame hall of English football.

In his latest column for The Mirror, the former Liverpool striker wrote: “If Jurgen Klopp carries on like this, he will go down as one of the great managers of all time-not just in Liverpool but in the history of English football. His buying and building of a team, his management of his players, his demeanor, and his achievements are first class. So if he can follow up last season’s European Cup victory, and this season’s Super Cup, Club World Cup, and Premier League triumphs with two or three more trophies, maybe another Champions League and a domestic cup or two, perhaps he would very reasonably be addressed in the same breath as Sir Alex Ferguson, Bill Shankly, Brian Clough, Bob Paisley, Jose Mourinho, and Pep Guardiola.”
