In response to the announcement of Timo Werner’s signing by the Premier League side, Kai Havertz has delighted Chelsea fans by liking a ‘announce Havertz’ tweet.
Earlier this month, Sportsmail announced Chelsea’s interest in the Bayer Leverkusen and Germany star although the Blues are likely to face tough competition for his signature. But that didn’t stop their supporters from believing Havertz, like the 21, dropped a huge hint on them.
On Thursday afternoon, Chelsea’s official account tweeted some comments from Werner, their new £53m signing from RB Leipzig. Among the hundreds of replies, Twitter user Masoud Karimis wrote Announce Havertz. And then there was a sensation when Havertz’s official account liked Masoud’s post with Chelsea fans pouncing on it as a sign that he would follow Germany’s teammate Werner to Stamford Bridge.
With Leverkusen Havertz enjoys an outstanding season, scoring 16 goals and adding nine assists. He has been in especially fine form since the beginning of last month’s Bundesliga, scoring six times.
He scored and provided an assist as Leverkusen defeated Cologne 3-1 on Wednesday night to move back into places in the Champions League.
Chelsea will have to spend £ 75 m or more on signing up for Havertz, who is under contract until 2022, and they already bought Werner and £38 m Hakim Ziyech.
Havertz has also attracted Real Madrid and Bayern Munich ‘s attention, but reports that the youngster would favor a move to England may encourage Chelsea.
Through the ranks at Bayer Leverkusen, the player has risen to become one of the most sought-after stars in Europe, having scored 35 goals in 115 league appearances for the club at the age of just 20. And if there’s anything to do with his social media, he’s eager to follow Timo Werner to Chelsea.
