Courtois wrote on Instagram, “It’s been an honor to have a legend like you as a coach. Thank you, Zidane, for everything you’ve taught me, for your unwavering faith in me, and for everything we’ve accomplished together. I’m hoping to see you again. I wish you the best of luck!”

Carvajal wrote on social media, “Coach, I only have words of thanks for the time I have had you as my coach. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to making me a better player every day. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years, and I wish you all the best. I’m confident we’ll cross paths again in the future.”

Varane wrote on social media about Zidane. “You have been more than a coach; a mentor since I arrived in Madrid ten years ago. You aided my growth as a player and a man. You’ve been able to lead this golden generation to the top in style (and on multiple occasions!). I can’t express my gratitude enough for all of your advice, both on and off the field. Thank you once more, boss! I wish you luck and hope to see you soon!”
