Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said it would be ‘stupid’ to talk about the Reds being in the title race in the Premier League after Burnley’s defeat at Anfield on Thursday night, having not even scored a goal in their last four games and just one since Christmas.

Ashley Barnes scored the winning goal for Burnley after being tripped by an onrushing Alisson himself when Fabinho gambled and let him have a free run at the mark.

Klopp quotes in The Daily Mail, “If I were to sit here now, lose to Burnley and not score in the last four games and talk about the title race, how dumb would that be? We need goals to be scored and that is what we need to do. This is the role that a manager and coach would do.”
