“It was an unforgettable night, the kind we ‘d dreamed of. It’s been a long time since I played so well and we showed Inter is ready for big things in a semi-final. We are ready for the Final,” he explained after the full-time whistle at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.
The Argentine player then went on to talk about the goals he scored and what they mean to him, particularly giving his recent struggles in front of goal.
“These goals give me so much, as there was a time when I wasn’t at my usual level, but this experience helps you grow. I am very happy with the way the team plays and displays the character. We ‘re getting better game by game and I’m pleased on a personal level too, because I’m going to have my first child, so I’m dedicating the goals to my wife and family.”
After that, he talked about the constant progress that the Nerazzurri made over the season.
“We ‘re just getting better and showing maturity in both young and more seasoned players such as Samir Handanovic, Danilo D’Ambrosio, and Diego Godin. They ‘re leading the way and we’re all following. In conclusion, he commented on Seville, who they’re going to face in this coming Friday’s Europa League final. Seville is a really powerful side, we are going to try to rest in the next few days and prepare for this special match we’ve been dreaming about. We hope that all goes well and that Inter takes home the trophy.”
