Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci lost Scudetto 2019-20 to the squad because they failed to grasp Maurizio Sarri ‘s philosophy, becoming the most demanding of the nine consecutive Series A championships.
Bonucci claimed Juve’s glory but described Sarri ‘s obstacles, telling Sky Sport Italia: “This was the most beautiful title because it was the toughest. We started a new era, a new philosophy, faced with so many obstacles, but we managed to bring our all in, even though there were too many slip-ups.”
“In three months, the world has also changed, in the field and outside, it’s been too hard. We had to get it back on our hearts, though we managed to. It was exactly what we wanted. I’m just short of vocabulary. To us, for the club, for the people who wished us on from afar, even from heaven, we have given everything to make sure we accomplished it. We wanted to celebrate for those who may not be with us here. You can’t hold yourself back when wearing this top. It was an unforgettable year. We still didn’t grasp the coach’s theory but we stayed a team, we served as great people rather than great players. We will now seek to rest for the next 10 days, and then plan for the next mission.”
