Thomas Tuchel, manager of Paris St Germain, says that if he ever were to leave Barcelona, Lionel Messi will be welcome at the club, but he doesn’t expect Argentina to do so.
Messi, who joined Barcelona at the age of 13, scored a record 634 goals in 730 games for the club and is now the most decorated player with 33 trophies but the 33-year-old is in the final year of his club contract.
Reports in the Spanish media have cast doubt on his future at the club after a frustrating season that resulted in Bayern Munich’s 8-2 Champions League humiliation in this month’s quarterfinals.
“He’s thankful. What coach tells Messi no? “Tuchel told BT Sport in the Champions League final on Sunday after his side lost 1-0 to Bayern.
“I hope Messi finishes his Barcelona career. He’s Barcelona Mr.”
Tuchel said the club will think about its recruiting priorities and need a stronger squad to fulfill the new season’s demands.
