Liverpool has joined Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge, according to sources.

Last summer, United paid a club-record £22 million for the Norwegian international, but he has only made 13 appearances for the Blades.

Berge hasn’t played since December due to a hamstring injury, and he may have already played his last game for United, who are on the verge of relegation.

Liverpool is also interested in signing Berge, according to Eurosport, who Jurgen Klopp sees as a perfect – and affordable – replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.
