An important game in the picture of the LaLiga relegation beckons as Mallorca takes on Tuesday’s 17th-place Celta Vigo.

Mallorca has faced a tough stretch on the schedule that pitted the side against Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Athletic Bilbao, and is still winless since the restart. The team based in the Balearic Islands, co-owned by retired basketball player Steve Nash, took just one point after play resumed in a draw against Leganes’ fellow basement dwellers.

Vicente Moreno ‘s side faces an uphill struggle to prevent an imminent return to the second tier, eight points back of Celta nearest in the table. Since the restart, Celta has done much better than her rivals, scoring a 6-0 win over Alaves and a victory over seventh-place Real Sociedad, as well as taking a point off Barcelona thanks to a free-kick goal from Iago Aspas in 88th minute. Celta has lost just one of its last 10 games, dating back to before the shutdown.

Mallorca was able to secure a point with a late goal by top scorer Ante Budimir when the two sides met earlier this season at Vigo. Mallorca, however, has played only three league games since the clash in December.

Oscar Garcia, who signed a new contract after the draw against Barcelona, will be hopping on Tuesday that his Celta side will be able to continue its strong away form. The team has kept a clean sheet on the road in each of its last four games, and Mallorca has only scored twice since play resumed.

On Tuesday Celta will probably be able to turn again to its most in-form players.

A win in Palma would help Garcia’s men feel much more secure; it would be insurmountable to bar a miracle from an 11-point gap between them and the bottom three with only five games left to play! Things will not ease for Moreno ‘s side as Mallorca also has to face Atletico Madrid and Sevilla in the run-in. The game will be available from 1:30 pm EST on both beIN SPORTS and fuboTV.
