Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has warned his teammates that Manchester United is not only Cristiano Ronaldo. The Manchester derby will mark the first time that Silva will be coming up against his compatriot. The city could move into second place with a win after their shock loss against Crystal Palace last weekend. Ronaldo moved to the Manchester club this season and has already scored 9 times in 11 appearances with the lastest being the last-minute equalizer against Atalanta in the Champions League.
“I think he is doing well.” Bernardo Silva said about compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo. “He is helping United with late winners this season. He is a player that people know, he can decide the game. We’re going to try and stop him, and make sure that he doesn’t score on Saturday. But we’re not playing against Cristiano, we’re playing against Manchester United. We’re going to be focussed on our job.”
“I’ve played against many of my teammates – when I play Wolves, I play against half of the national team!” he added. “When I play against Liverpool, I play against [Diogo] Jota, when I play against United, I play against Bruno [Fernandes] as well. There are many teammates here in the Premier League. Of course, Cristiano is a big name, as everyone knows. It is one more game, an important one – very important for us, but just one more game.”
“I’m feeling happy right now. I love the club, I’ve always loved the club,” Silva added. “I feel the love from the fans, from the staff, and from my teammates and that was never the question.”
