Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted that he has not rejoined Man Utd for a vacation and that he is looking to bring glory to the club. Ronaldo won three Premier League titles and a Champions League when he was here for six years from 2003 to 2009. He left the club for Real Madrid where he took his game to the next level before joining the Serie A with Juventus. United has not won the league title for eight years now since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013. Fans are hoping that the return of Ronaldo could be the injection of class that the club needs to regain the title.
“This is why I am here,” Cristiano Ronaldo said when asked about Man Utd winning the league. “I am not here for a vacation. Before was good, winning important things and I wore the shirt before, many years ago, but I am here to win again. I am capable, me and my team-mates. I am ready to go, I am ready to go. It is a good chance for me, for the supporters, for the club, to get one step ahead. I am ready and I think I will be a huge thing in the next three or four years.”
“I was so nervous – I didn’t expect to play,” he added when asked about the first time he joined the club from Sporting Lisbon. “When I signed for Manchester United I thought I would go back to Portugal and stay there for one more year [on loan], but Sir Alex Ferguson said ‘no, you’re going to stay here and be in the squad for the game’. I was super nervous. I called all my friends and I didn’t even expect to come on in the game, so I was super nervous.”
